BORROWDALE SOCIETY FAMILY
The Society started under Mt Pleasant Circuit with sister
societies, All Souls, Hatcliffe, Sally Mugabe and
University of Zimbabwe. In 2012, Mt Pleasant Circuit was
split into two resulting in the birth of Borrowdale Circuit
comprising Borrowdale, Hatcliffe and Sally Mugabe
Societies.

Borrowdale Society moves in line with the Mission and
Vision of the Church.

• Site acquisition – Application for a Church site in
Borrowdale by the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe
was done in February 1999 to the Harare City Council.
After a rigorous process, council approved and
allocated the Church site on the 1st of March 2009.
• Site description – The remaining extent of Stand 217
Greystone Park Township.
• Site location – Corner Harare Drive/Lemmington Drive
Greystone Park, Harare.
• Size of Stand – 10 211 m²
• Commencement of lease– The lease commenced on the 1st of March,
2009 on a monthly rental of $1 000.00 and church members from
various societies started to fellowship on site thereby taking
occupation and initiating mobilization of funds for rentals, enabling
works/facilities to allow for fellowship on site and church building
project.
• Launch of Society– The launch of Borrowdale
Methodist Church Society was on the 4th of July 2009 followed by the
setting up of church structures in line with the Standing Orders at its
first leaders meeting held on the 17th of April 2010.
